We spend a lot of time reading estimates, calling contractors, and going through Village documents. The newsletter is where the useful parts of that end up, along with what is going on around town.

Written by a River Forest homeowner, for River Forest homeowners. If you live in 60305 and own the roof over your head, it is for you.

    Village news that affects your house.

    Permit fee changes, the sewer lateral reimbursement program, tree removal rules, parkway work, water main projects on your block.

    What is happening around town.

    The Memorial Day parade, the Park District calendar, library programs, and Dominican and Concordia events open to the public.

    One seasonal thing worth doing.

    Short and practical. Flush the water heater before winter, clear the gutters before the leaves drop, check the sump pump before spring.

    A River Forest service provider, looked at properly.

    Sometimes we write up one local company: what they do, how long they have been at it, what their Village license says, and what homeowners report. No advertorial, and nobody pays for a newsletter write-up.

What it is not.

Not automated, and not a channel for anyone to sell you something. A company written up in the newsletter does not pay for the mention and does not get your email address; paid placements on the site are labeled where they appear.
